Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Gymbell ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use the Gymbell app ("App").

1. Data We Collect

Gymbell stores all workout data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate servers or databases — your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.

The following data may be stored locally:

• Workout sessions, exercises, sets, reps, and weights
• Rest durations and timer preferences
• Training templates and programs
• Body weight readings (synced from Apple Health if enabled)
• App settings and preferences

2. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you enable Health Integration, Gymbell may read and write the following data types from Apple Health:

• Workouts (read and write)
• Heart rate (read)
• Active energy burned (read)
• Body weight (read)

Health data is used only to display information within the app and to enrich workout summaries. It is never transmitted to external servers by Gymbell.

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Gymbell.

3. AI Features

Gymbell's AI features are optional and disabled by default until you configure a provider.

When AI features are enabled, workout context (such as recent exercises, sets, and weights) may be sent to the AI provider you configure:

• Anthropic (Claude) — governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy
• OpenAI — governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy
• Google (Gemini) — governed by Google's Privacy Policy

You supply and manage your own API key. Gymbell does not see, store, or transmit your API key to our servers (we have none). The key is stored in your device's Keychain.

You can disable all AI features at any time in Settings → AI Features.

4. Widget

The home screen widget displays a summary of your last workout. This data is written to a local App Group container shared between the Gymbell app and the widget extension on the same device. It is not accessible to any external party.

5. Apple Watch

If you use the Gymbell Watch app, workout data is synchronised between your iPhone and Apple Watch via WatchConnectivity — Apple's device-to-device framework. Data does not pass through any external server.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only outbound network requests made by the app are AI API calls to the provider you explicitly configure.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the Gymbell app removes all locally stored data. There is no account or cloud backup managed by us.

8. Children's Privacy

Gymbell is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
